giorgio gigli is an italian minimal-trance maestro, an incredibly modern renaissance man who is also a trained sommelier.** he is rising in the ranks and catching up in profile to his occasional production partner, donato dozzy. hopefully we will have more of his tracks on turbo soon.

hobo is a fellow canadian best known for his excellent work on m¦nus. rumor has it, he borrowed richies quad-macro template file to finish the final version of this remix... whatever he did, his second effort came up huge, this mix is excellent.

kebacid is the production alias for turbo all-stars jesper dahlbäck and jori hulkkonen. their previous releases on jespers defunct blank ltd are some of the best acid tracks of the decade. this is a monster that ought to keep all the die-hard turbo fans happy.

jetzt erscheinen bowies sechs studioalben aus den jahren 1969-1973 einzeln auf 180g vinyl, die bereits im umfangreichen box-set david bowie five years 1969-1973 zu finden waren, welches im september 2015 erschien.
für die alben space oddity, the man who sold the world, hunky dory und pinups! wurde die remasterte version von 2015 verwendet, während für the rise and fall of ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars auf das 2012er remaster bzw. bei aladdin sane auf die remasterte version von 2013 zurückgegriffen wurde.
mit schicken und funky tracks starten syntec & linus in die zweite runde von shortage. >pret-a-danser< ist ein dribbler zwischen fidget-house und loungigen breaks, der den spannungsbogen meisterhaft spannt und für feuer im gesaeß sorgt. um den remix kümmert sich der nuernberger homebase. dieser bereitet den trunk weicher und minimaler zu, ohne das thema aus dem auge zuverlieren und gruesst freundlichst die tanzflaeche.
lauter wird es bei >motored< und >bettys petticoat<, die sich gezielter und schnittiger nach vorne druecken. vocalschnipsel und andere kuriositaeten schleifen auf der oberflaeche der tiefen subbaesse. die definitionsabweisende zwischenwelt von house und techno ist gewahrt. summa summarum eine hoechst abwechslungsreiche ep und dazu ein abraeumer der oberen klasse, der seine liebhaber finden wird.
bodo elsel has only done a handful of records and the two that i have known and loved since 1998 were put out on playhouse, the excellent housey sister-label of mighty klang elektronik. one track in particular, discount baby, has always stood out in my mind as a high water mark in the sacred art of groove (you may have heard of it). punchy accents and resonant bass layered with trippy vocal loops, its dubby acid house of the highest order, made by a mysterious german lego-master, who the a&r team of mike mind and thomas st shindig managed to coax back into activity.
it only took bodo a year to answer mr. minds email, but he eventually delivered three amazing tracks... >haustier< revitalizes piano house. >mai< is incredible, and >mein haus< is one of the top few all-time expressions of the greatness/meaning of germany, putting it in the fine company of the autobahn, sven väth and christmas-market schwein. nice wibes!!

excellent bassheavy dubstep remix by untold !!! schon die ersten takte machen klar, es wird abgehen. was sich zunächst als intro eines derbe-straighten oldschool-hammers ankündigt, wandelt sich ohne jede vorwarnung zum breakbeat-kracher mit angezerrter monster-kick. mit dem >surgeon remix< wird die sache dann auch tatsächlich gerade, aber von entspannung hat hier niemand was gesagt. der straight-bouncige beat hüpft wie angestochen durch die gegend, angereichert mit seltsamen metall-percussion. die klaustrophobischen flächen und düsteren melodiefragmente der album-version ziehen sich zusehends enger - wird der track dichter, oder sind gerade die wände ein stück näher gerückt...

after fergies massive >eye of storm / maktub< release, next up on his forward thinking excentric muzik label is the first offering from a new collaboration between two men of the moment, christian smith & reset robot, entitled >elixir<.
>elixir< is a driving monster with one of the catchiest and most addictive hooks of the year, instantly recognisable and is sure to be the highlight of many sets as it has been for fergie over the summer. on remix duties is mr henry von, who runs excentric sub-label rekluse with fergie. his >tribal rage< remix utilises the original hook, adds an interesting array of percussion, then takes the listener on a mind-melting journey full of twists and turns. gary beck (still on a roll after his massive >consumed< on minus) also takes hold of the remix reigns and delivers a deep and hypnotic workout that has already been included on christian smiths forthcoming renaissance compilation he liked it so much.

since the middle of the 90ies andry nalin counts to the most successful djs and producers for underground house worldwide. beside numerous successful releases and remixes on labels like saw, stealth, bedrock, subliminal or his own label superfly he made with nalin & kane and the track >beachball< a so called crossover hit in 1997 that mutated from an underground to a worldwide hit within one year. in the last time he has big influence on the tech- and deephouse scene and releases also on plastic city since 2008.

der titel legt es schon nahe: >for now<, das zweite album des britischen 60s-retro-trios the bishops, ist eine art bestandsaufnahme. eine referenz an den moment, an das jetzt, das die gruppe aus london seit erscheinen ihres deb?talbums 2007 mit hunderten konzerten ausgiebig gelebt hat - u. a. als support f?r james blunt auf dessen europa-tour. so sind denn auch viele der songs von >for now< auf tour entstanden, aufgenommen wurden sie im sommer 2008 in london vom produzenten brian o?shaughnessey (primal scream, my bloody valentine). abgesehen von den klassischen dreimann-arrangements spielen the bishops auf >for now< auch mit ungewohnten instrumenten wie trompete, mundharmonika und klavier. rockig und im besten stil der kinks und fr?hen beatles ist das allemal, wie nummern wie >hold on<, >free to do what you want< und die erste single >city lights< beweisen. doch auch ein folksong wie >he was a friend of mine< schaffte es auf die platte.
